Mumbai Central Division of Western Railways introduced a UCCC to boost ‘Digital India’ with advanced facilities

Mumbai, November 12: The national transporter has introduced a Unified Command and Control Centre. Giving a boost to ‘Digital India’, the Mumbai Central Division of Western Railways has launched this facility with advanced features.

UCCC will enable data collection, data monitoring and aid in making real-life decisions, hence improving safety and resource optimization. The UCCC, set up over an area of 587 square metres, is designed with ergonomic features and a modern ambience.

The UCCC comprises of 3 distinct areas, viz. centre comprises of segmented video walls in 9 columns and 2 rows, along with 18 number of 55-inch TVs and 8 control work stations for monitoring the core areas having Operating and Safety Customer Delight, Health and Security, Capacity Expansion and Developmental Works, Asset Management of both Fixed & Rolling infrastructure, Finance, HR & Procurement, Monitoring of Nadurbar Area and Monitoring of Valsad Area.
  
 
Some salient features of the Unified Command and Control Centre:

It integrates information systems across core function of Indian Railways like operations, commercial, Asset Management, HR, Finance, procurement. It produces robust data-driven cross-functional visualization tool kits for enhancing the immediate, medium and long-term all-round performance of the division.

It unifies through dedicated communications, IT application packages, dispersed geographical control jurisdictions of Mumbai Central control, Valsad control area, and Nandurbar Control Area.

UCCC provides for a Centralized Event Management System involving monitoring, remote management and troubleshooting of over 2700 camera network.

It provides a seamless facility for Disaster Management in the Mumbai Division, with streaming information including rainfall, flooding, trespassing and communication with external agencies.
