Pune, September 24: Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways attended the Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony at the Katraj Flyover and other NH Projects today.

Gadkari also inaugurated the ground breaking ceremony of 22 highways worth Rs. 2215 crore at Katraj in Pune. Roads connecting Pune to Mumbai, Raigad, Satara, Solapur, Ahmednagar, Nashik are being developed through this.

National Highway 548D Shikrapur Nhavara section’s work has been completed. 46.46 crore 28 km long laning work has been completed. Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporations / MIDCs in both Shikrapur and in Nhavra will be connected. The connectivity between Ahmednagar and Marathwada too, will be enhanced.
 
 
He also dedicated the state highway number 60 from Indrayani river to Khed road, which will be made a 6-lane for a length of 17.17 km, costing Rs. 1,269 crores.

Pune to Shirur Highway will be developed on National Highway 753F section.

Many more such roads and highways are in the works to be developed, which will not only boost the connectivity in these areas, but will also lessen traffic and congestion in the areas. The aim is also to lessen the number of accidents which have happened in large numbers here in the past few months.

Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Council Neelam Gore, Home Minister Dilip Wasle-Patil, Public Works Minister Ashok Chavan, Minister of State Dattatraya Bharne and other representatives from the district too were present here.
