This is one of the two latest Vande Bharat train routes, which enhances the connectivity between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus and Solapur. This advanced high-speed train will connect the commercial capital to the city of textiles in Maharashtra.

The train will provide faster connectivity to pilgrimage centres like Siddheshwar in Solapur, Akkalkot, Tuljapur, Pandharpur near Solapur and Alandi near Pune. While the existing superfast train takes 7 hours and 55 minutes, the Vande Bharat will take 6 hours and 30 minutes, saving 1 hour and 30 minutes of travel time.

The Mumbai-Solapur train is the ninth Vande Bharat train that was launched today.
