Indian Railways run nearly 668 special trains during the ongoing festive season

New Delhi, October 27: During the ongoing festive season, the Indian Railways is ensuring the passengers special arrangements for travelling to their native places to celebrate festivals with their own families. For convenience of rail travellers and to help clear added rush of passengers during this season, Indian Railways is running 668 trips of 110 special trains starting from Durga Puja till Chhatha Puja, this year.

The augmentation of coaches in regular trains is also being done to ensure the berth availability during this festive rush. Special Trains have been planned to connect major destinations across India on railway sectors. Crowd controlling measures by queue forming at terminus stations with supervision of RPF staff for orderly entry of passengers in unreserved coaches is being ensured.

More RPF personnel have been deployed at major stations to ensure security of passengers. Officers are deployed on Emergency Duty at major stations to ensure smooth running of trains. Staff are deployed in sections to attend any disruption of train service.
 
 
Measures have been taken for frequent, timely announcement of arrival / departure of trains with platform numbers.

The “May I Help You” booths are kept operational at some stations, where the RPF Personnel and TTEs are deputed for assistance / guidance of passengers. Medical Teams are also available at the major stations on call, along with ambulance with paramedical teams.

A eye on misconducts, like cornering of seats, over charging, etc, by the Security and Vigilance Department staff is done and strictly monitored. Instructions for maintaining the cleanliness at waiting halls, retiring rooms, passenger amenity areas are given out by the Zonal Headquarters.
