Chennai-Mysore Shatabdi Express becomes Southern Railway's first IMS Certified Train

Chennai, October 29: The Chennai-Mysore-Chennai Shatabdi Express has received Integrated Management Systems or IMS certification for maintenance and better use of environment friendly resources, and also for offering travel comfort.

The train which uses the Linke Hofmann Busch rakes has already received the ISO certification.

The features that have earned it the certification includes the elimination of diesel-run power car coach, biodigester toilets, maintaining 100% of the passenger amenities in working condition, on-board house-keeping facility with 5-stage cleaning energy conservation through LED electrical fittings, pre-loaded Wi-fi infotainment system, automatic sliding door closer for passenger coupe in executive coach, reflective coach indication and toilet occupancy indicator, some aesthetic vinyl wrapping for coach interiors, automatic air fresheners for passengers coupes and toilets, comfortable seats with high quality upholstery, fire extinguishers, unified information sticker in all the coaches with the emergency contact numbers too.
 
 
 
Southern Railway general manager John Thomas presented this IMS certificate to the Basin Bridge depot, which is in charge of the maintenance of this train.

He did the inspection of the train, and also felicitated the team of officers, and staff of this depot.

He presented the awards, along with the merit certificates to the officers and the staff, for maintaining the train service well in accordance with the standards set for obtaining the IMS certificate.
