Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway likely to be completed by October 2022

Bengaluru, December 7: The Rs 8,172 crores Bengaluru-Mysuru expressway, which is expected to reduce the travel time between Karnataka to less than 90 minutes from the current 3 hours, is on track to meet its revised deadline of October 2022.

According to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) officials, phase-1 from Bengaluru to Nidaghatta in Mandya will be ready by May 2022, the second phase from Nidaghatta to Mysuru will be complete by September.

An NHAI official said that 83% work was completed in Phase-1 that runs to 56.2 km, and 78% had been completed in Phase-2 that runs to 61.1 km. He said, “Around 85% of the elevated section from RR Medical College to Christ University in the Bengaluru-Nidaghatta section is completed and three bridges are ready, while the fourth was being readied.”

He further said, “The foundation and casting work for the 3.38 km elevated highway in Nidaghatta to Mysuru section has been completed. Erection of segments and wings are in progress, and we can say that 78 per cent of the overall work is complete.”

The two sections of the 10-lane Bengaluru-Mysuru expressway are being built by Bhopal-based Dilip Buildcon.
