Nitin Gadkari discuss ways for infra development in 9th Group of Infrastructure Committee meeting

New Delhi, August 25: Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH), Nitin Gadkari chaired the meeting of the 9th Group of Infrastructure Committee on Tuesday. The major issues discussed during the meeting were the outstanding forest clearances regarding the highway and the other infrastructure projects.

The officers concerning these issues were directed to accelerate the process for doing so immediately. Land / ROW (right of way) policies regarding the Railway and Road Transport and Highways and the making of comprehensive guidelines for Forest Clearance and Environment were discussed in the meeting at length.

The Minister of Railways, Ashwini Vaishnaw, highlighted how important new technologies and financial models for Railways’ infrastructure enhancement are and also offered to work closely with MoRTH on similar lines.
 
 
 
Ashwini also stated he would like to observe the viability of planning to lay the railway lines along the Highways in the land which is already acquired in order to make the projects possible. Gadkari suggested starting Tree Bank, like the notion of Carbon Credit.

Apart from them, Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, MoEF&CC, Labor & Employment Minister Bhupender Yadav, MoS for RT&H & Civil Aviation Gen (Dr.) V. K. Singh (Retd.), Minister of State and MoS Defence and Tourism Ajay Bhatt participated in the meeting. The Ministers settled to look into the issues raised by the different agencies to resolve them to accelerate the infrastructure projects contributing to the building of the Nation.
