New Delhi, September 16: The South Central Railway / SCR has commissioned a longer loop line at the Navabpalem station in the Vijayawada-Visakhapatnam section.
This is the second such line constructed in this zone. The first one was built at the Bikkavolu station. The new facility is to help the SCR to enhance train operations, ease the congestion and also accommodate long-haul goods trains with additional wagons.
In a press release, the SCR official spokesperson, Ch Rakesh, said the loop lines are constructed at stations in order to handle more trains and to ease out the train operations. The loop lines are normally built with the length of 750 metres, that could accommodate a full-length goods train with numerous engines.
