6-Laning of Kaliagura-Baunsaguar stretch of NH-130-CD Approved

New Delhi, September 03: In a major boost to road connectivity and employment, the 6-laning of the Kaliagura-Baunsaguar section of the NH-130-CD under Raipur-Visakhapatnam Economic corridor has been approved by the central government.

The National Highway Development Project which passes through Odisha, was sanctioned under the Bharatmala Pariyojana.

This project will be passing through some interior parts like the Umerkote, Jharigaon, Raighara, Dabugaon, Nabarangpur along with a few areas in the district of Koraput like Boriguma and Semiliguda.
 
 

Close to 1.500 hectares of land including large forest patches will be attained for the NH project. A budget amounting to Rs. 1,539 crores has been approved for this project. The Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari informed this through a tweet.

Following the decision, the Union Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways Nitin Gadkari for the approval of the NH project in Odisha.

Pradhan said in a tweet that the project will boost connectivity and will also be creating employment opportunities on a large-scale level.
