Rajdhani Express between Patna-New Delhi makes maiden run with Tejas rake; Know the smart features-

New Delhi, September 2: The coaches of the Rajdhani Express from Rajendra Nagar Terminal at Patna to New Delhi has been upgraded to the Tejas type smart sleeper coaches, announced the Ministry of Railways on Wednesday.

The Rajendra Nagar-New Delhi Rajdhani Special Express is the second Rajdhani Train to have the recently upgraded Tejas sleeper coach rakes. The new rake had its maiden run on Wednesday.
 
 
 
The Ministry of Railways said in a release, “A new era of train travel experience with enhanced comfort is being rolled out by Indian Railways with the introduction of newly upgraded Tejas sleeper coach rakes in Rajdhani trains.”

The golden coloured coaches of this Rajdhani train have smart features with intelligent sensor-based systems for advanced safety and comfort. The smart sleeper coach rakes have the Passenger Information and Coach Computing Unit (PICCU) in order to record the data of Wheel Slide Protection (WSP), with CCTV footage, toilet odour sensors, a panic switch and other things included with the fire detection and alarm system.

Some more additional features of Rajdhani’s upgraded Tejas rakes are:
1. 2 LCDs in each coach displaying important journey related information
2. 6 cameras in each coach with day-night vision capability
3. Emergency talkback for medical / security emergency
4. Improved Toilet Unit with anti-graffiti coating, Gel coated shelf, new design dustbin, door latch activated light, engagement display, and infant care seat
5. Toilet occupancy sensor to display the toilet occupancy inside each coach
6. Panic button in each lavatory.
7. 2 toilet annunciation sensor integration in each coach to relay dos and don’ts announcement in lavatories, whenever engaged.
8. Bio-vacuum toilet system for improved hygiene condition
9. Air suspension Bogies to improve passenger comfort
10. On-board condition monitoring system for Bearing, Wheel, to improve safety
11. HVAC system for thermal comfort and acceptable indoor air quality
12. Water level sensor.
13. Seats and berths with fire-resistant silicone foam
