New Delhi, October 13
: PM Modi launched the PM Gati-Shakti – National Master Plan for multi-modal connectivity at Pragati Maidan in Delhi. PM Gati-Shakti is the result of the PM’s efforts to build the Next Generation Infrastructure which will improve the ease of living as well as ease of doing business.
This multi-modal connectivity will provide integrated and a seamless connectivity for people’s movement, goods and services, from one mode of transport to another. It will also facilitate the last mile connectivity of infrastructure and also reduce the travel time considerably for the people.
The PM Gati-Shakti will provide the public and business community information regarding the upcoming connectivity projects, more business hubs, industrial areas and the surrounding environment.
The PM Gati-Shakti will also be incorporating infrastructure schemes of various Ministries and State Governments like Bharatmala, Sagarmala, inland waterways, dry / land ports and UDAN. Economic zones like textile clusters, pharmaceutical clusters, defense corridors, electronic parks, industrial corridors, fishing clusters and agri zones will be covered to improve connectivity and make Indian businesses more competitive.
It will also be leveraging technology vastly, including spatial planning tools with ISRO imagery developed by BiSAG-IN (Bhaskaracharya National Institute for Space Applications and Geoinformatics.)
