New Delhi, September 18: Union Minister of Railways Ashwini Viashnaw inaugurated the Rail Skills Development Scheme under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (Prime Minister’s Skill Development Scheme) through video link from New Delhi, on September 17.

Under this scheme, the youth who are unemployed and have minimum qualifications as matriculation passed in age group 18-35 years will be given free training for skill development.
 
 
 
If the training is completed successfully, the trainees will be given certificates. East Coast Railways has planned to provide this opportunity to 2500 youths in the area.
 
 
The training in the fields of welding, electrician, and fitter trades at Diesel Loco Shed at Visakhapatnam, Electric Loco Shed at Angul and Visakhapatnam and at Carriage Repair Workshop at Mancheswar, having 20 slots in each location.
 
The training will be of 100 hours in 3 weeks.
 
Mr. Vaishnaw said that the scheme will be helpful for the unemployed youth of India. They can learn various skills and develop their Entrepreneurial skills for jobs in different industries.
 
 The training will provide placement support to the youth of this region.
