Rs.100 Lakh Crore Plan Gati Shakti to be revealed in this month

New Delhi, September 1: PM Narendra Modi’s Rs. 100 Lakh Crore Master Plan Gati Shakti, will be unveiled this month as part a plan to reduce logistic costs and also provide better connectivity. This project will be offering multi-model connectivity to over 1,200 industrial clusters which also include 2 defense corridors across the country.

According to reports, these clusters include food processing parks, electronics and IT, pharma and medical devices, fishing clusters and harbors, along with mega textile parks. The ‘PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan for Multi-Modal Infrastructure Connectivity to Economic Zones’ with the tagline being ‘Gati se Shakti’ will be including projects under the current flagship schemes of different ministry schemes such as Bharatmala, Sargammala, Udaan, Bharat Net, expansion of Railway networks, and inland waterways.

This scheme for holistic and integrated infrastructure development will create vast employment opportunities.
 
 

The minister said that a strategy has been adopted for the development of roads. The NHAI plans to monetise the roads majorly through 2 modes – one, Toll Operate Transfer that is TOT and the other is INvIT. He said, since they saw positive outcomes for NHAI from TOT, it will continue to progress the strategy with smaller bundles meeting the needs of international and domestic players.

Gadkari said agriculture is our real strength and they intend to diversify in the energy and power sector, waste to wealth and waste to energy is also extremely important. He said they are committed to deliver vehicles having flex engines that give the users an option to run a vehicle on either 100% bio-ethanol or 100% petrol.

About road fatalities, Gadkari said the vision he has is to achieve a 50% reduction in road accident fatalities by 2025 and 0 fatal accidents in India by 2030. For this, several initiatives, policy reforms, and adopting Safe Systems are being put into place. He said to control this problem, Ministry is restructuring and strengthening the 4 E’s of Road Safety, namely - Engineering (both Road and Vehicle Engineering), Enforcement, Education and Emergency Care Services.
